Liverpool’s “buy early” policy will stand them in good stead for the 2015/16 Premier League season, says Peter Taylor.
Brendan Rodgers’ side announced the £21.3million signing of Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino on Wednesday from Hoffenheim, having already captured James Milner, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez and Adam Bogdan this summer.
He said: “Whenever I’ve had success at clubs, we’ve got them in early, which means the first day of pre-season everyone is there. But you can only do that if you’re sure what you’re going to sign. If you have any doubts you don’t go too early.”
