Liverpool is ready to sign Croatian international Mandzukic this summer if talk of him wanting to leave Atletico Madrid is true.

The 28-year-old only moved to Spain last summer from Bayern Munich, but has proved himself to be a hit scoring 20 goals for the Colchoneros.

Reports are suggesting that he has recently fallen out with Coach Diego Simeone and that a move away is now on the cards with Brendan Rodgers eager to move quickly and sign him.

The plan would be to help fund the transfer with the sale of Mario Balotelli, and Fabio Borini who have both failed during their time at Anfield.

The Reds may face opposition from Arsenal though, as the Gunners look to bring a new front-man so that they no longer have to rely on Olivier Giroud to spearhead the attack week in and week out.

Mandzukic will probably cost in the region of £26 million which we think is a reasonable price to pay for a player of his quality.
