The current Beady Eye front man waltzed in on the post match press conference stating: “Top of the league, how about it?” to the amazement – but approval – of all concerned.
Mario Balotelli had done something similar at an Inter Milan press conference last month. Both Gallagher brothers are known to be fans of the Italian.
“Fergie? He must have been blinded by the lights. He must have been on the whiskey too much,” added Gallagher, before saying of City boss Roberto Mancini: “I love him. He’s almost as cool as me.”
Gallagher didn’t stop there. Speaking about match winner Vincent Kompany, the lifelong City fan beamed: “He [Kompany] invited me to his box. He scored a blinder, his family is mega and his sister is really cool. Nice one, bro. Vive le Belgium!”
Before the game, Gallagher met Diego Maradonna, who was in town to watch son-in-law Sergio Aguero, with Gallgherr Tweeting a picture of himself and the 1986 World Cup winner with the caption: “Diego Maradonna shakes the Hand of God.”
Eventually, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini got a word in, stating that the title race was not yet over and that the necessary two wins from the final two games of the season would not be easily achieved.
