The 30-year-old bad boy — on a season-long loan at Marseille — branded Rangers stars “w*****s” and “maggots” after they were relegated from the Premier League.

And he blasted Jose Bosingwa after seeing footage of the full-back laughing as he headed down the tunnel at the final whistle of the goalless draw at Reading.

Barton wrote on Twitter: “I can’t believe QPR have just been relegated and Bosingwa was walking down the tunnel laughing.

“Embarrassing. Show some guts man…

“Gutted for the club. Too many w*****s amongst the playing staff. All brought in by (former manager Mark) Hughes.

“Some good lads but not enough. Too many maggots.”

Barton was loaned to French club Marseille this season following his crazed sending-off on the final day of the last campaign. The former Newcastle midfielder has a contract until 2015 after being signed by Neil Warnock last season.

But Barton has made a return to Loftus Road virtually impossible with his attack on players brought in by Hughes after Warnock was sacked.

Barton added: “Hope they can get a load out, if not they’ll end up in a Wolves situation because trust me that Championship is a f****** hard league!

“League table doesn’t lie. Both sides haven’t won enough games to deserve to stay up.”

R’s officials apologised to fans after their shocking season.

Rangers chief executive Philip Beard also took to Twitter after the game, stating: “I feel for all QPR fans today. Every single one of you deserves more. We will sort this out and come back stronger. #QPR” Chairman Tony Fernandes added: “Sorry to all QPR fans. But the plan goes on. Now more than ever. We owe it to you. Took 3 years to get Caterham right. No quitting.”

Manager Harry Redknapp hit back at Barton’s blast and defended Bosingwa, insisting: “He was only laughing because a lad who played for them (Daniel Carrico) came up and spoke to him when he came off.

“He wasn’t laughing about getting relegated. You can put a camera on anyone and see them laughing or talking — to start throwing that one at the boy is completely out of order.

“I don’t think he has done anything wrong. He wasn’t laughing about drawing or getting relegated, that’s for sure.”

And on the rest of Barton’s rant, he added: “I don’t want to sit here and start criticising people. If that is Joey’s opinion then it’s his opinion.

“It is all about good players and good professionals. If you have got good players it is the easiest job in the world.

“There are problems within the club, it has not been an easy club to manage. But if it had been easy, I wouldn’t have got the job — Mark Hughes would have still been sitting here now.”
