The Newcastle Chronicle newspaper is reporting that World Cup star Costa Rican international Joel Campbell could be offered to Newcastle on loan in order to bring Mathieu Debuchy to the Emirates quoting sources out of London.

The Guardian also confirms that the 28-year-old Debuchy will undergo a medical this week before the proposed £7.9 million move to north London and is also suggesting that Campbell could be a part of the deal with the Magpies desperate for attackers.

Another proposal being suggested is that the Gunners offer Carl Jenkinson for the French international right –back, but it is still unclear if Newcastle is looking to do a player plus cash, or an all cash deal.

Here at Soccer Transfers we would be extremely disappointed to see Joel Campbell moved on so quickly after his showing at the World Cup despite interest from Everton and West Ham for the 22-year-old.

All we would like to tell Arsene Wenger is spend the cash for some quality players, but don’t sell Campbell or loan him out instead give the youngster the opportunity to show what he can do for the Gunners.
