Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere says England’s midfield in the 2-1 win over Brazil at Wembley contained a good mix of youth and experience.
Manchester United’s Tom Cleverley and Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard lined up alongside 21-year-old Wilshere, who picked up the man-of-the-match award on his first start for his country for 19 months, following a lengthy spell out through injury.
Goals from Wayne Rooney and substitute Frank Lampard gave England their first win over Brazil since 1990, when Gary Lineker scored the only goal of the match at the old Wembley Stadium.
