Inter Milan have become fed up with goalkeeper Samir Handanovic’s refusal to sign a new contract at the San Siro and have according to Italian sports newspaper Corriere Dello Sport approached Chelsea over the availability of veteran Petr Cech.

The 32-year-old is almost certain to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after being replaced in nets by Belgium international Thibaut Courtois as the Blues starter.

When asked last month about his situation at the club Cech said: ‘I don’t know what the club’s idea will be. It looks like it works well with me and Thibaut as a duo. But that can work for one season only. I don’t want another one like this.’

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is very reluctant to let Cech join a Premiership rival with reports just yesterday claiming that the club has already told Arsenal not to waste their time trying to send him so a move to Serie A could certainly be on the cards especially given Chelsea interest in Milan’s unsettled Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi.
