FORMER Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has been tipped to replace current Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

GUARDIOLA TIPPED FOR ARSENAL?

The 41-year-old is currently taking a break from the game, having left the La Liga giants at the end of last season.

But, with his stated intention to take just 12 months rest, Guardiola has recently been linked with a number of Premier League clubs.

And one of his former charges, Mexican defender Rafael Marquez, is convinced that Guardiola will be at the Emirates next term.

Wenger was vague on his own future when questioned recently, with the 62-year-old’s contract due to expire in 2014.

The Frenchman has faced a difficult time in north London over the past few seasons, with the Gunners struggling to challenge for major honours and having sold a number of their star players.

“[Guardiola] will soon return to the game. I think he’ll go to England. He’d be perfect for Arsenal,” Marquez told Spanish radio.
