Arsenal has received a huge boost ahead of Sunday’s trip to Old Trafford, with striker Danny Welbeck fit to play his former team after having missed the last two matches.

The game could prove to be pivotal for both teams as the club that ends the season in fourth place faces a tricky play-off to get into the group stage of the Champions League, while the third place finisher is automatically in.

The last time Welbeck played against his former club was in the FA Cup earlier this season with the England international punishing the team who let him go by scoring a goal.

The trip on Sunday presents him another opportunity to show the Red Devils that they were wrong in selling him to Arsenal with the 24-year-old looking forward to once more punishing Louis Van Gaal’s team.

Meanwhile the Gunners are also hopeful that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will recover from a groin injury and be available from the bench.
