Giroud, Arsenal,

Arsenals Oliver Giroud is concerned with the lack of activity by Arsenal in the transfer market, and feels that the club are in need of a striker.

Despite being linked with several big name players this summer which include Gonzalo Higuain, Luis Suarez and Wayne Rooney, the Gunners are yet to sign anyone.

Arsenal fans expressed their dissatisfaction during the season opener loss against Aston Villa at home with a belief that they had been lied to by the club after being promised some big name signings this summer.

Giroud has now backed the fans saying that some fresh faces at the club would be welcome telling Le Parisian that in order to compete the gunners must bring in some new firepower.

“It’s necessary for the club to recruit another striker.

“Obviously I think about it a little bit. It may change the play one day, especially if it’s a high-profile signing.

“It’s useless lamenting this though. I know what I have to do and what I’m capable of.

“I’m focusing on me and my work. The coach is counting on me, so I don’t think too much.”

Meanwhile unless something is done soon and Arsenal continues their poor start the noise from the fans will only increase until changes are made.
