Former Blues player and assistant manager Ray Wilkins is happy that Chelsea managed to sign Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina after the form he showed in last summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

The 26-year-old became a Chelsea player on the last day of the winter transfer window for £23.3 million, most of which will be offset by the £22 million the club got from Wolfsburg for German international Andre Schurrle.

Wilkins is predicting the former Udinese player will be a big hit at Stamford Bridge telling the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show “Cuadrado was outstanding in the World Cup for Colombia and he’s been outstanding for Fiorentina.”

“Hopefully he can bring that flair to a Chelsea side which is showing some good form this year.”
