manchester united, real marid,

Never mind all the talk about Sergio Ramos moving to Old Trafford as part of the deal that will see goalkeeper David De Gea move to Real Madrid, as it is former Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric that Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal really wants according to reports.

The Croatian international midfielder was already on United’s radar before he decided to swap north London for the Spanish capital back in 2012, and has since gone on to be a fan favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid now has a new manager in the form of Rafa Benitez, and with club president Florentino Perez eager to sign De Gea, it is a distinct possibility that they may sanction the sale of the now 29-year-old Modric if it means landing the Spanish international.
