MANCHESTER CITY boss Roberto Mancini confirmed he plans to snatch Lille star Eden Hazard from under Alex Ferguson’s nose.

Spurs, Real Madrid, Milan and Barcelona are also keen on landing the £35million-rated Belgian playmaker.

But Mancini admitted in his interview with a French magazine that he really wants 21-year-old Hazard.

The Italian said: “I like Hazard a lot. He’s a good player, he’s young and he would do great things in our team. Given his technical qualities City would be the perfect destination for him.

I know him and have been following him for a long time. He’s a player a lot of teams want.”

Mancini watched Hazard last month when Lille faced Valenciennes.

The French club are resigned to losing Hazard in what will effectively be a summer auction among Europe’s big hitters.

Manchester United boss Fergie also watched Lille — although he insisted he was not there just to spy on Hazard.

Ferguson said: “There were another two or three players we wanted to see.

“Hazard is a very good player but there are very good players in Europe.

“He has excellent qualities. He’s very quick over the first 10 yards.”
