David Beckham was sent off just six minutes after coming on as a substitute in Paris St-Germain’s 1-0 win at Evian.

The former England midfielder, 37, was shown a straight red in stoppage time following a lunge on Youssef Adnane.

PSG, who led through Javier Pastore’s 50th-minute goal, were already a man down after Marco Verrari was sent off for a second bookable offence.

After the final whistle, Evian’s Saber Khelifa and PSG’s Salvatore Sirigu were also sent off following a scuffle.

And PSG assistant coach and former Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele was sent to the stands for remonstrating.

However, victory ensured PSG re-established their nine-point advantage over second-placed Marseille with four games left.

They will be crowned champions for the first time in 19 years if they secure a better result against Valenciennes than Marseille manage against Bastia on Saturday.
