Chelsea has yet to make any big moves in the transfer market this summer except for perhaps making the mistake of selling Petr Cech to a Premiership rival, and brining in what we suspect could be the transfer of the summer Radamel Falcao on-loan.
It would appear now hover Jose Mourinho is set to get the Blues summer back on track by launching a £46.2 million raid for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea are looking to make Griezmann their marquee summer signing and are going back to the Spanish club with a renewed offer of their previous bid of £35.5 million plus Egyptian international winger Mohamed Salah for a combined total of £46.2 million.
Salah is currently on loan with Fiorentina, and with the Italians keen on keeping him it remains to be seen how it will all play out, but the offer of the cash plus a winger to replace losing Griezmann could temp trainer Diego Simeone to sanction the deal.
