Chelsea is reportedly ready to make a move for Monaco striker Radamel Falcao after a season long loan at Old Trafford comes to an end with Manchester United not wanting to make a permanent move for the Colombian international.

Liverpool were believed to be in talks to sign him for £25.1 million, but reports in Spain say that the west London outfit is ready to make a move for the 29-year-old and bring him to Stamford Bridge where he will replace Loic Remy.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been a long-time fan of Falcao ever since his hat-trick for Atletico Madrid blew Chelsea away in the 2012 UEFA Super Cup.

There is at the moment two schools of thought over the once prolific goal scorer, one being that he is not the same player since having a knee operation and another that says Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal never gave him the playing time he needed at Old Trafford to prove himself.
