CHELSEA face the prospect of losing Oriol Romeu to Valencia, according to reports in Spain.

CHELSEA COULD LOSE ORIOL ROMEU TO VALENCIA

The 20-year-old is highly regarded at Stamford Bridge, after he broke into the first team under Andre Villas-Boas last season.

But since Roberto Di Matteo took over as manager the former Barcelona star has seen his playing time limited, with Jon Obi Mikel preferred in the defensive midfield role.

And Romeu has now been linked with a move away from west London, with Valencia reportedly sending scouts to watch him during Spain’s U-21 international against Croatia.

There is a clause in Romeu’s contract which allows Barcelona to buy back the midfielder for a fee of £12million.

And Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo suggests that the Nou Camp outfit could be willing to co-operate with their La Liga rivals to help bring Romeu back to Spain.
