Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is set to become the latest Chelsea player to commit his long term future to the club.

The Blues have already signed full-back Cesar Azpilicueta to a new five-year deal and have got goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to re-sign with the club up until 2019.

The now 28-year-old Cahill has been a huge success at Stamford Bridge following his £ 7 million move from Bolton back in the January transfer window of 2012.

The Evening Standard newspaper is reporting that talks began with Cahill at the start of the month and that it is only a question of time before an announcement will be made confirming that he has penned a new deal.
