Following his self-imposed ban on speaking to the media Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho appears to be ready to end the silent treatment and once more answer questions at Chelsea press conferences.

The 52-year-old manager has not spoken publically since before the match against Manchester City last weekend, and will have to try and bite his tongue during Friday’s press conference ahead of the clubs match away to Aston Villa.

The Premier League has not been happy with the Chelsea manager for the way he handled the match with Manchester City with camera crews from around the world broadcasting the top of the table clash to 650 million homes in 175 countries.

Current broadcast right rules include a provision for managers press conferences which Mourinho obviously broke with his non-attendance as millions of viewers were not treated to one of the most charismatic figures in the world game giving his opinion on what was billed to be one of the biggest games of the season.

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson would regularly miss press conference, even banning the BBC after they aired a documentary that showed his son in a bad light.

Following the Scots retirement the Premier League wasted no time in changing the rules to make sure that managers complied with the media duties they were required to do.

Mourinho could now be possibly fined for his non-compliance of these rules.
