Good news for Liverpool and Chelsea in their search for a new striker following reports that Southampton has now cooled their interest in QPR front-man Charlie Austin.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman believes he has enough attackers and is now more concerned about other parts of his team.

Austin scored 18 goals during his first season in the Premiership for the relegated Hoops, and is eager to remain in the top flight with a host of clubs interested due to his relatively modest priced when compared to other available options.

QPR is looking to receive £15 million for the 25-year-old, but has so far not received a single offer which could play into either Liverpool or Chelsea’s hands as both clubs know QPR is keen to sell.
