Former Arsenal player Gilberto Silva has told Brazilian sports broadcaster Globo Esporte that he has received an offer to join Arsenals coaching staff.

During his six year stint at Arsenal, Gilberto won the Premiership and the FA Cup while being a key player with the Gunners 2003/04 ‘Invincibles’ side.

Meanwhile the 38-year-old is without a club after having left Atletico Mineiro, and has told Globo Esporte that he has been given the chance to return to Arsenal.

“Anything is possible,” he said. “It makes me happy when you have these offers, people see you have different ideas, you can contribute and it makes you happy and motivated.

“And it makes me want to learn from others, develop my knowledge and also develop my own style.”

Currently the Brazilian is recovering from injury, and while still not rejecting the chance of returning to play football he realizes that his opportunities may be limited.

“Anything is possible, I have not received any invitation here in Santa Catarina, I’ve had some offers to play again, but nothing here,” he said.

“The issue of rehabilitation is in the final stretch, but I’m open (to holding) a good conversation where everything can be solved.”
