It will be a battle for Arsenal to keep hold of Lukas Podolski this summer,  who scored two goals last week, one just after nine seconds in Germany’s 4 – 2 victory over Ecuador during a friendly held in the United States.

Earlier Atletico Madrid and now Borussia Dortmund have been showing  interest the German striker.

He joined the Gunners for £11million last year and Dortmund are looking to see if Arsenal are prepared to offload him.

After selling Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich for £31.5m, and Robert Lewandowski who is also expected to join the treble winning German giants, Dortmund will have money to spend.

Podolski has played 109 times for his country and scored 16 times in his first season with the Gunners since arriving from Bundesliga side  Cologne.

Seven weeks ago it was revealed that  the player feared for his future in the club, having been frozen out by Arsene Wenger – although he did win back his starting position.

Podolski is happy at the club but a big offer could tempt  Arsenal’s decision, saying this however Wenger has £70 million to spend this summer and is looking to add to his squad rather than sell.
