Bookies Slash Odds on Brendan Rodgers replacing Mourinho at Chelsea

Now here is a turn up for the books after bookies slash the odds of former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers becoming interim manager at Stamford Bridge from 20/1 to 7/1 as fears grow that Mourinho will be sacked if the Blues lose at home to Jürgen Klopp’s team this weekend.

While former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti and sacked Dutch national team manger Gus Hiddink have been mentioned as possible replacements for the “Special One” the Belfast Telegraph says that Rodgers is being considered due to his strong connections with the club having worked as their youth team coach.

Given owner Roman Abrahmovic’s tolerance with managers the interim appointment of Rodgers would give the team time to get a big name signing in place, and who knows maybe Rodgers is just the type of man to get back up on the horse and put Chelsea back to their old winning ways.
