Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has not played since November 26th after injuring his calf during a 2-0 Champions League home win over Borussia Dortmund, and now manager Arsene Wenger will have to come to terms with the fact that the 32-year-old will be out for at least another three months following surgery to his ankle sustained while trying to recover from the previous injury.

The Spaniard now joins French defender Mathieu Debuchy who will be out a similar length of time following an operation to repair a dislocated shoulder he incurred during the 3-0 win over Stoke City.
