RYAN BERTRAND has signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea.
The Blues were keen to reward the promising left-back for his rapid progress since the turn of the year, which saw him break into the first team and play in the Champions League final win against Bayern Munich.
And Bertrand, 23, was delighted to commit his future to the European champions until 2017.
He has made 15 starts for Chelsea and was handed his first full England cap in the friendly with Italy last month.
