Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have decided to go up against Manchester United in January for Southampton striker Sadio Mane according to the Daily Mail.
Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal failed in his attempt to lure the 23-year-old to Old Trafford during the summer, but will try again in January once the transfer window opens for business.
Bayern Munich however will try and stop the Senegalese international moving to Manchester after having seen him bag 17 goals for manager Ronald Koeman’s side since his arrival from Red Bull Saltsburg last season.
This news will add pressure on United to meet Southampton’s £40 million valuation and with Chelsea also in the market for a goal scorer Mane leaving Saint Marys looks like a certainty with reports suggesting that the south coast team is already looking for a replacement.
