Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze has been linked with a move to England this summer after having failed to establish himself in Pep Guardiola’s team following a big money move from Borussia Dortmund.

While being interviewed by Goal this weekend the 23-year-old German international was told that Italian champions Juventus were also interested in signing him.

“I think that Juventus reached the Champions League final not by chance but because they had a great season last year.

“They managed to win titles in the last year and they are a big, big club.

“But, at the moment, I don’t want to comment because there’s nothing to say at the moment.

“I think that playing abroad might be a good experience for me: new languages, new cultures. I might like it.

“But, as I said, I’m just at the early stage of my career. Let’s see what the future brings.”

Following those remarks Bayern Munich trainer Pep Guardiola stepped in to quash any talk of a transfer saying: “Mario’s got a contract here, he’s my player and he’s a great player too.

“In my mind, he is going to be a Bayern Munich player all season. He’s a top player, but I know that it’s not only the coach who decides here. It depends on the club.”

Meanwhile Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is considering doing a deal for Goetz that would see Angel Di Maria moving to the Allianz Arena, while Liverpool for now at least are wrapped up in trying to get Christian Benteke to Anfield.
