The keen interest of Athletico Madrid of Spain in Manchester United duo of Shinji Kagawa and Javier Hernandez ‘Chicharito’ is no longer news with Athletico Madrid reported to have made a bid of £25million to the reds for the services of the players.

Whether Manchester will allow them leave is yet to be confirmed.

Shinji Kagawa’s arrival in Old Trafford in 2012 with total of 56games in all competition and only 6goals which sums up his frustration at been played majorly as a back-up player in Manchester United.

Kagawa’s most influential moment in United came under former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson in a season where he got a hat trick against Norwich in the EPL but due to the 4-4-2 formation adopted by the highly rated scot, Kagawa struggled to fit in perfectly with Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie leading the line.

Nonetheless, Sir Alex still maximized Kagawa to the best of his ability and but with the introduction of a new manager in the 2013/2014 season where united had their worst season since 1989/1990, Kagawa became an irrelevant member of the squad.

The Japanese midfielder’s performances over the past few months have not been encouraging and but he’s looking to impress under new Manchester United boss, Louis Van Gaal.

Javier Hernandez on the other hand joined Manchester United in 2010 after impressing in Guadalajara FC Mexico and helped his national team to the round of 16 in 2010 FIFA World cup in South Africa.

He made an instant impression on the former United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson and has since been termed as the new Manchester United Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is presently managing the championship side, Cardiff city.

Javier Hernandez has been influential during his stay in Old Trafford with 59 goals in a total of 83 starts, a great return from the poacher.

Despite his performances, 2013/2014 season was a season to be forgotten for the Mexican as he struggled to even come on as a substitute, talk less of playing more matches for the club which added to his disappointing show in the just concluded FIFA world cup in Brazil.

Kagawa and Hernandez’s future in Manchester United is not certain with the arrival of the new manager, Louis Van Gal from their performances last season but both have shown to be good enough to be in United squad though if that happens, they will have to accept playing second fiddle to Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persia.

This probably will be the major issue as the players are reported to be interested in playing in the first team.

We can conclude by saying Moyes’ reign as United boss spoilt a lot of things including the player’s confidence level but the United duo will have to choose either to play first team football in Athletico Madrid or play fewer games in one of the world biggest teams, Manchester United.

Manchester United boss, LVG as popularly called will disclose to players their fates in United before the end of the week and the possibility of LVG allowing them leave is slim since they are the best replacement for the first team members.

It must be noted that a very good offer from Athletico Madrid and the zeal of the players to leave may hinder United’s chances of holding on to them but every United fan will probably love to see them stay.
