Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is busy lining up a double deal for Southampton midfield powerhouse Victor Wanyama and for Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Gunners boss has been short of a true defensive midfielder all season and sees the Saints 23-year-old Kenyan as the ideal candidate to fill the void.
Adding another striker to the Gunners firepower is also something Wenger is looking to do with his attention now focused on 20-year-old Serbian international Aleksandar Mitrovic who has scored 36 goals in 76 appearances since moving to Anderlecht from Partizan Belgrade in 2013.
Wenger is not alone in his desire to sign the young striker with Chelsea and Newcastle United also tracking him, which has led his agent Nenad Jestrovic to say “There is interest from several clubs, but today there is nothing concrete.
“As he plays, he earns a transfer to a top competition.”
With the Arsenal boss always looking for what he likes to call value in the market, he could have these to diamonds playing at the Emirates next summer for around £30 million.
