With all the current talk of Arsenal being favourites to resign former player Cesc Fabregas despite now having seen Liverpool , Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all show that they are interested following Barcelona’s announcement that they will let the 27-year-old Spanish international leave for £30 million it could be a blessing in disguise for the Gunners who do not really need Fabregas back after already having a number of players in that role that includes Mesut Özil and Santi Cazorla, as well as Tomas Rosicky.

Where Arsenal do need help is in defensive midfield which is why one of the Mail’s most reliable journalists Sami Mobil is reporting that the Gunners are preparing a £15 million bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Sven Bender the twin brother of Bayer Leverkusen’s Lars Bender.

The 25-year-old made 19 appearances for Dortmund last season before getting injured in February and missed out on his chance of joining the German World Cup squad.

Mokbel thinks that a £15 million bid will not be enough for the German powerhouse to let Bender leave despite the fact they just paid Torino £15.5 million for Serie a top scorer Ciro Immobile.
