Saint-Etienne captain Loic Perrin has confirmed that he has been contacted by Arsenal about moving to the Emirates.

The 29-year-old defender has been on manager Arsene Wenger’s watch list for some time with the Gunners boss knowing his countryman would like to test himself in the Premier League.

Arsenal scouts have been impressed by Perrin’s performances in Ligue 1 this season leading to speculation Wenger will make an £8 million offer to Les Verts’ for the centre-back this January.

“I have been contacted personally (by Arsenal). Arsenal is interested but for now there is still no contact with my club,” Perrin confirmed to the press this weekend.

Perrin is a fan favourite at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard having come up through the clubs youth system.
