Arsenal must take the field today imagining that they are playing in the Cup final with all thought and attention on Everton while pretending that the match against Bayern Munich is a long way off rather than next Tuesday.
Everton for their part have even dismissed the chance of realistically finishing in the top-four after falling five points behind fifth place Tottenham, and with several of their players getting up there in age the FA Cup represents what might be their last chance of ever winning a major trophy and a winners medal to show to the grand-kids.
With this in mind and nothing else to think about Everton will prove to be very determined opponents today at the Emirates, meaning that if Arsenal is to have any chance of winning they must be determined to match Everton in every area of the pitch with each player giving 100%.
My fear though and I have expressed it before is that manager Arsene Wenger is going to have his mind thinking about Tuesday and Bayern Munich rather than focused on the game at hand, and once the team sheet comes out we will know right away whether or not he wants to win the one trophy which on paper at least seems the Gunners best chance or whether he thinks Arsenal can come back from a two goal deficit in Germany and a place in the Champions League last eight.
