Arsenal has reportedly made a bid for Uruguay youngster Federico Valverde following a visit by the 16-year-old to the Gunners London Colney training base earlier in the year.

 

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to have reached out to Valverde’s South American club Penarol, and has according to Spanish sports newspaper Marca has submitted an offer in the region of £2.5 million for the attacking midfielder.

 

Arsenal is not alone in their interest of one of the hottest young prospects out there, after scouts from Chelsea and Barcelona saw him seven goals during the South American U-17 Championships earlier this year.
