Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has turned down a £9 million offer from Inter Milan and now looks as though he will be joining Manchester City on a free transfer once his contract is up with Arsenal according to the Daily Star.

The 31-year-old Sagna has been holding out for a new contract at Arsenal based on his current wage of £60.000 per-week and a three -year contract, but the Gunners are only interested in a two-year deal.

Inter supposedly offered him £90,000 per-week on a two-year deal with an option of a third year, yet the Frenchman turned them down preferring to stay in the Premiership.

Inter would also not be able to provide Champions League football  sitting fifth in Serie A some 11 points behind Napoli which is another reason the French international is hoping to join former teammates and fellow French internationals Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy at The Etihad.

Our feeling is that Sagna’s future is still up in the air with several other top European clubs interested in the right-back, and while Manchester City is certainly an option, the Frenchman will have more offers available.
