As Arsenal prepares to take on Manchester City at the Emirates on Monday might the Gunners boss says he highly regards City’s Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini, but has nothing to say as regards to under fire Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

Pellegrini currently has to lead his team while talk continues about Bayern Munich trainer Pep Guardiola coming in to replace him at the end of the season leading Wenger to say that the Manchester City manager does not get the respect he deserves.

“Personally I rate him highly on the football front and on the human front as well,” he said.

It is also known that there is no love lost between Wenger and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho with the Frenchman still furious about being labelled a “voyeur” by the Portuguese manager who claims Wenger is obsessed with what is going on at Stamford Bridge.

He did however say that he did not think Chelsea were in danger of being relegated due to the quality of the players in the team.

“If you ask me objectively, will Chelsea go down I will say ‘no chance’,” he added.

“They are going through a difficult spell but they are not in a relegation battle.”

But when asked if he thought Mourinho was still the man to lead them to safety he said: “I do not want to assess any other things about Chelsea. It’s not my problem – my problem is the game on Monday night.”

Pressed whether he also had sympathy for the 52-year-old’s plight he would only say: “I just gave you a good answer.”
