A pissed off looking Mourinho ends the silent treatment

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has ended his media black-out, but looked to be in no mood as he answered journalist’s questions on subjects ranging from team injuries to how happy he was living in England.

“You know why I’m here, so you cannot expect me to be super happy to be here,” and when asked if he attended because felt compelled, he replied: “Yes.”

The Blues boss also brought up the little touchline run-in he had with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger earlier in the season when asked if he expected to be fined from the Premier League for not holding press conferences.

“You know, the only surprise I had, in relation to that, was for it not to be punished when I was pushed by another manager. Apart from that, I can expect anything.”

With everyone present assuming Mourinho’s lack of talking to the media was because of Diego Costa’s three-match ban for stamping on Liverpool defender Emre Cans ankle, Mourinho said when it was brought up: “You can make a silence very noisy. You could make noise with my silence, it depends on you. If I was a journalist I could make from silence, lots of words.”

Clearly not wanting to answer questions on any of the issues one reporter asked him if he was still enjoying his job.

“I’m enjoying my work with my players,” he answered. “When I like my players an like my squad, I’m much more happy. More motivated to work. And this is the case.”

The Portuguese manager refused to be drawn in on the Costa ban saying: “I don’t reflect. I don’t even think about it because maybe they [the FA] can read my reflection and I don’t want [that].”
