Arsenal youngster tells teammate he will need to BRING-IT if he wants his starting spot in Wenger’s first XI

Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin is not willing to give up his starting place in Arsene Wenger’s first XI after having come to prominence filling in for French international Mathieu Debuchy last season.

Debuchy is now fully fit and expecting his place back in the team, but 20-year-old Bellerin put in some stellar performances for the Gunners last season and is not likely to want to give up the start so easily.

When talking about the situation with Arsenals official website Bellerin said: ‘My personal goals are to keeping working hard and hopefully challenge for the right-back spot again.

‘Last year I got more minutes than I thought and I think I showed people I could play there, this year Mathieu obviously is back from injury and back fit.

Hopefully it will be a good friendly battle between us and it makes us better players, make us compete against each other and then it is down to the boss.’
