It is begging to look as if Chelsea defender Filipe Luis could be on his way back to the Spanish capital after having spent just one season at Chelsea.

The Brazilian left-back was signed by Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last summer for £16 million, and yet despite the fact he has made 22 appearances for the Blues this campaign he is not happy that he has been benched for the clubs big games where manager Jose Mourinho always goes with Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta.

Last month newspapers in Spain were reporting that the 29-year-old was not happy at Stamford Bridge leading to speculation that he could be reunited with Diego Simeone at the Vincente Caulderon.

As for Chelsea though, Jose Mourinho will be very reluctant to let Luis leave as he looks to bolster the Blues defence hoping to bring in Raphael Varane from Real Madrid as a successor to John Terry, and would be hoping to use Luis more next season after having given him one year to adapt to life in the Premiership.

This of course means that the only way Luis is going to leave is if he goes to Mourinho and tells him he wants out.
