According to Spanish sports newspaper AS Sir Alex Ferguson was in Madrid where he had dinner with Cristiano Ronaldo in an attempt to convince the 30-year-old to finish his career at Old Trafford.

The former United manager is known to have a good relationship with Ronaldo after having first brought him to United in 2003 helping the Portuguese winger to become one of the best players in the world before moving to Real Madrid in 2009 for £80 million.

Manchester United would love to have Ronaldo back at the club not only because of his ability as a footballer, but also for all the clubs sponsors and the fans as United aim to be the World’s biggest football club.

There are going to be a few big moves this summer, and whether or not Ronaldo will be one of them will have to wait and see.
