Former Chelsea player and now Wolfsburg Star Kevin De Bruyne is set to sit down with the Bundesliga club for crucial talks which should determine whether the Belgium international remains in Germany or returns to the Premiership where he is wanted by Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United following a spectacular season that saw him rack up a Bundesliga record of 21 assists.

The 23-year-old may feel he owes it to stay at Wolfsburg after they rescued him from Chelsea, and with Champions League football on offer next season he could very well decide to show some loyalty, but football being what it is the Premiership teams would all be able to offer more money than he earns in Germany, so it could prove to be a tough decision.

De Bruyne’s agent Patrick De Koster said: “We are aware of the interest from other clubs. But Kevin knows how much faith Wolfsburg showed in him when Chelsea didn’t.

“Klaus says he will be making a proposal. We will wait to hear that before we consider other options.”
