If a report by Daily mail is true, Manchester United will in a couple of days announce the signing of Renato Sanches. This is as Daily mail are reporting that Benfica President Luis Filipe Vieira was on Thursday in the city of Manchester to hold talks with the Red Devils officials which was highly successful.

It was revealed last week that Manchester United and Benfica were in advanced discussion for the transfer of the 18-year-old midfielder who has also been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, Juventus, Barca and Real Madrid. The deal has now been agreed according to Mail and United will be paying as much as £46 million to acquire the high rated box to box midfielder.

Sanches reportedly has a release clause of £60m inserted into his contract which expires in the summer of 2021. United according to the report have however managed to get Benfica to lower their price tag and will now be paying the Portuguese £31 million upfront plus another £15 million in add ons which seems like a good deal especially considering the Renato Sanches despite being just 18 seems to be a decent player. The fact that he has drawn attention from Bayern Munich, Barca and Real Madrid is testament to how good he is.

Two weeks ago, report had emerged that Sanches has agreed personal terms with Manchester United and now that a fee has been agreed between both clubs, it appears an official announcement will be made before the Portuguese goes to France for the European Championship with Portugual in June. Reports from Portugual already indicated that a medical has been scheduled for the first week of May.

If this report is, it means Manchester United have decided to move quickly in order not to lose the youngster to other interested club. It also means that despite United unlikely to be playing in the Champions league next season, the club is still attractive to players.
