Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has refused to rule out a late move for unsettled Fulham forward Clint Dempsey.
Dempsey, who has been left out of Fulham’s last two matchday squads, is expected to leave Craven Cottage before the close of the transfer window.
Fulham accepted an offer from Aston Villa for the USA international last night, but he has reportedly spurned their interest in hope of holding out for a move to Liverpool.
The London side complained to the Premier League earlier this month over Liverpool’s public pursuit of Dempsey, but Fulham’s anger does not appear to have dissuaded Liverpool.
When asked if he would be making a move for Dempsey, Rodgers said: “We’ll have to wait and see.”
