Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante is a summer transfer for Arsenal Wenger according to the Express. Wenger is said to be in the market for another deep lying midfielder and has his eyes fixed on signing Kante or Xhaka as a replacement for the trio of Flamini, Arteta and Rosicky who will all leave Arsenal this summer.

Wenger has told those close to him that he will stop at nothing to lure the French defensive midfielder who joined Leicester City last season. Kante has been a revelation this season, partnering with former Manchester Danny Drinkwater in the centre of midfield to a deadly effect.

The French man recently made his debut this month for France against Netherland and still has his peak period ahead of him as he is aged 26. Kante has shielded the less mobile and more physical central defence of Morgan and Robert Huth and is known for his positional prowess.

Kante will not cost as much as Borussia Dortmund’s Granit Xhaka who Wenger is also interested in. This is because Leicester City’s coach Claudio Ranieri has promised not to stand in any player’s way if another club meets the Leicester’s valuation of the player. It is strongly believed that Kante offers a better defensive cover than
the Swiss hence his preference. Arsenal is likely to lose certain players like Mathieu Flamini, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta hence the need to sign a replacement.
