arsenal, real sociedad

Real Sociedad manager David Moyes has tabled a bid of £6 million with Arsenal in the hope they will sell Costa Rican striker Joel Campbell to the Spanish club.

Campbell has plenty of experience playing away from the Premiership after a successful spell in Greece and last season’s loan to La Liga side Villarreal as a part of the deal that saw Gabriel Paulista move to north London.

The former Everton and Manchester United manager sees the 22-year-old Campbell as a second option now that it looks as though Danny Ings will sign for Liverpool.

The Scottish manager improved Real Sociedad defence, but was frustrated with his side’s inability to score goals, and has made signing a striker this summer a top priority.
