Arsenal, Manchester United

According to Metro Manchester United are putting together a bid which will out do the £25 million Arsenal were thought to be willing to pay Barcelona for Chilean international Alexis Sanchez.

Liverpool was also being linked with Sanchez as part of the transfer fee for Reds striker Luis Suarez, but have now come out and said they are looking for a cash only deal leaving Manchester United’s new manager Louis van Gaal who is a big fan of Sanchez to step in and make an offer.

The Dutchman has already brought in Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera to Old Trafford and still has plenty of money for new signings as he looks to build a team that will take United back to the top of the Premiership.

And while Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he is confident that the Gunner’s can sign Sanchez in the coming weeks Arsenal are still to make their first signing of the transfer window and given Wenger’s cautious nature unless he wants to go head to head with van Gaal he will miss out on a player that would have suited Arsenal’s style of play.
