‘I will move back to Manchester for next season and do my best there’

These are just the kind of words Manchester United fans wanted to hear from Argentinian Winger Angel Di Maria.

After having made just 20 starts for the Red Devils last season much speculation surrounded the future of the 27-year-old amid concerns the clubs most expensive transfer would not be at Old Trafford next season and that his preferred destination was the Parc des Princes.

Di Maria has now rubbished all the talk suggesting he was not happy in Manchester saying that he was committed to the long term.

‘It was a hard season for me,’ said Di Maria.

‘Under (Louis) Van Gaal I played in lots of positions until he decided to bench me. I think I did a good job, though.

‘I finished second in assists and I scored some goals, so I definitely think I did well in my first season at Manchester United.’
