Manchester United

27-year-old Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is a hot property at the moment with the Chilean international being linked to a host of big clubs including Bayern Munich following the departure of Toni Kroos for Real Madrid.

talkSPORT however is reporting this morning that Manchester United are the front runners for Vidal’s signature and are currently involved in advanced stages of negotiations.

As things stand at the moment it would appear as if Manchester United is prepared to pay £30 million plus offer Juventus full-back Patrice Evra who had already been earmarked to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Vidal who is currently on holiday following the World Cup is quoted as saying: “I’ve heard the rumours, but I won’t speak of it anymore.

“I’m enjoying the holidays and when I return to Italy I’ll see what happens, but we all want to play for one of the best teams in the world.”

News coming out of Italy claims the United have also approached doctors from the Chilean camp to enquire about Vidal’s fitness and the condition of his knee after having undergone surgery just five weeks prior to playing in Brazil.

Corriere dello Sport claim that, despite Vidal’s comeback in Brazil, Manchester United are seeking assurances over his condition before moving ahead with a £35million cash-only deal for the box to box midfielder.
