Manchester City is ready to sign Chelsea reject Kevin de Bruyne after the sensational season he is having with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

The 23-year-old left Stamford Bridge just over a year ago for £17 million after complaining that he was not getting enough playing time under manger Jose Mourinho.

The Belgium winger and international teammate of City captain Vincent Kompany has been in such fine form that Manchester City has had scout at every Wolfsburg match this season purely to watch the young star whose performance even has talk of Chelsea wanting to re-sign him.

The only hindrance to a deal being done with City is the massive £40 million valuation that Wolfsburg have placed on him, but a deal could be arranged if the Northwest club were to include striker Edin Dzeko as part of the deal.

Wolfsburg look as though they will be playing Champions League football next season, and would like to keep the young Belgium if possible, and have shown their ambition just last month when they paid Chelsea £22 million for German international Andre Schurrle.
