No one would argue the fact that former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was right in his decision to leave Liverpool and join Barcelona last summer, proving his point by scoring in the Catalan’s 3-1 Champions League win over Italian champions Juventus last night in Berlin.
The 27-year-old Uruguayan international could barely contain his joy following the match admitting that for him it was a dream come true.
“It’s incredible… unique,” said Suarez. “It’s a dream.
“To win the Champions League and competitions like this you have to suffer. It’s not the same if you do not. We suffered and today we won. “
“After they scored they pushed forward and put pressure on us. They had chances.
“But we have but difference makers in our team and we came out on top.”
Trainer Luis Enrique echoed the striker’s comments, and just like Suarez in his first year in charge at the Nou Camp could not be happier.
“We are very happy,” said the Barcelona coach.
“I’ve got a unique group of players. They’re winners, soldiers and they enjoy what they do and they make us all enjoy it.
“This is match number 60 of the season, with 50 wins. It has been a difficult year and I’m very thankful to the people who believed in me.
“I never thought we would win the treble, but one always tries to do their job the best that they can. These players have shown that they do not get tired of winning.”
