Arsenal are monitoring the progress of Leicester’s city Defender according to report doing the rounds.

According to the Mirror, the Gunners are watching closely the situation of Ben Chilwell at the king power stadium. The 19-year-old has reportedly been a target of the club since the summer of 2015.

The left back has fallen down the pecking order of the club’s defence following the summer singing of Christian Fuchs who has gone on to cement his spot as the first choice left back.

This may have caused Chiwell to turn down advances of a new contract at the club. It is reported that he is fed up with the sparring role handed to him and intends leaving the club.

Kieran Gibbs is reportedly unhappy with the dearth of game time coming his way and he is reported to be set for a move out of the Emirate Stadium out of the season.

This may have prompted the urge to sign a new player in the left back position and Chiwell could be the perfect replacement considering his young and also a home-grown talent.

Wenger has a record signing quality players on a free transfer and this could happen to be one of those situations.
